Borrowed Breath

Medium: Knitted fabric, Breath-responsive generative animation, sound, real-time projection mapping, dimensions variable

Software: Touchdesigner

Borrowed Breath reflects on breath existing beyond the body. How an intimate, unnoticed everyday action can become a form of shared presence. What happens when something so fleeting is made visible?

This interactive installation uses microphone-based breath detection. Two participants breathe into separate microphones, and each breath is captured and translated into a real-time generative animation.
